Pay Rate/Range:$25/hr
Description: This position is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding metal components and assemblies according to specifications, drawings, and quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety and workmanship. This role follows the company's Quality Management System and safety requirements, prioritizes customer satisfaction and compliance, protects company assets, and models professionalism and teamwork. Key responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints and weld symbols; performing MIG, TIG, Flux-Core, and Stick welding as required; fitting, tacking, and welding parts to tolerance; inspecting and correcting welds; using appropriate tools and measuring equipment; maintaining clean, organized work areas; completing required documentation; and participating in continuous improvement efforts. The Welder also supports team development by mentoring less experienced employees, demonstrating proper techniques and safe practices, reinforcing quality standards, and assisting with onboarding and on-the-job training.
Job Requirements:Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail and pride of workmanship, along with proven welding proficiency and sound judgment. The role requires clear communication skills to explain techniques, expectations, and feedback, as well as solid mechanical aptitude and the ability to visualize finished assemblies. A strong teamwork mindset, willingness to support others, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential, along with effective problem-solving and decision-making skills. Prior welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is required, welding certifications are required, and experience training or mentoring other welders is strongly preferred.
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift/Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm
