Job description

Job Description Job Description Lead HVAC Technician - Campus Facilities Location: Dover, DE Position Type: Full-Time Schedule: Steady Day Shift (Consistent hours, minimal local commute)
About the Role
Are you tired of driving a service van across the state, dealing with unpredictable schedules, and chasing residential commission targets? We are seeking a seasoned, dependable HVAC Technician with at least 5 years of hands-on commercial or institutional experience to join our dedicated campus maintenance team. In this role, you won't be managing random home service calls-you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems on a single, permanent campus. If you take pride in following clear SOPs, working with a steady crew, and keeping critical facilities running smoothly year-round, this is the long-term opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair campus-wide HVAC equipment, including packaged rooftop units, chillers, split systems, heat pumps, air handlers, and control systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturer specifications.
  • Complete daily work orders, digital inspection logs, and maintenance tracking accurately and on time.
  • Respond promptly to temperature adjustments, service calls, and critical facility issues across campus.
  • Adhere strictly to campus safety protocols, Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, and environmental compliance standards.
  • Work collaboratively with our on-site facilities, electrical, and maintenance team members.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in commercial, institutional, or large-scale HVAC maintenance.
  • Certifications: EPA Universal Certification required. (State HVAC license or journey-level credential preferred).
  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, advanced electrical troubleshooting skills, and fluency with reading wiring schematics and technical manuals.
  • Work Style: High attention to detail, strong respect for safety protocols, and a proven track record of following step-by-step technical instructions.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, and work comfortably in equipment rooms and rooftop settings.

Why Join Our Team?
  • No "Windshield Time": Work on one dedicated campus every day-no daily highway driving or living out of a service van.
  • Predictable Hours: Enjoy a consistent daily schedule and reliable income without chasing seasonal sales metrics.
  • Work-Life Balance: Minimal on-call rotation with predictable, scheduled campus operations.
  • Job Stability: Long-term institutional stability in a supportive, safety-first environment.
