Job Summary:
The Welder Fabricator is responsible for assembling, welding, and fabricating metal components and structures according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding techniques, metal fabrication, and blueprint reading. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
Operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and stick welders, to join metal parts.
Cut, shape, and fabricate metal components using tools such as shears, cutters, and grinders.
Perform quality checks on welded joints and fabricated parts to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
Set up, adjust, and maintain welding equipment to ensure proper operation.
Collaborate with team members to plan and execute fabrication projects.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to welding and fabrication processes.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Assist in the development and improvement of fabrication processes and techniques.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding or metal fabrication preferred.
Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick).
Strong understanding of metal properties, welding symbols, and fabrication processes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to welding and fabrication.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions.
Working Conditions:
The role involves working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and fumes.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
Ability to lift 60 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Frequent bending, reaching, and working in awkward positions.
Occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
