An HVAC Installation Technician assembles, installs and connects heating, ventilation and cooling systems in residential buildings. Key duties include running refrigerant lines, wiring electrical components, testing system performance, and ensuring every setup aligns with manufacturer specs and local building codes.
Core Responsibilities
- System Assembly: Position, mount, and connect HVAC components (compressors, condensers, evaporator coils, furnaces) according to blueprints and layouts.
- Infrastructure Connection: Link new systems to existing ductwork, electrical panels, and refrigerant/gas lines.
- Safety & Compliance: Pressure-test lines for leaks, check electrical circuits, and calibrate controls to ensure all installations meet local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Customer Interaction: Explain equipment operation, maintenance, and thermostat usage clearly to homeowners.
- Inventory & Record-Keeping: Maintain an organized truck inventory and accurately log daily job details into company software.
Requirements
- Experience: At least 2 years professional experience as an HVAC Installation Technician
- Certifications: EPA Certification
- Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and tolerate extreme temperatures (hot attics, cold crawl spaces) for extended periods.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
