Isometrics, Inc. is hiring Weld Finishers / Pressure Test Technicians to join our Finishing & Testing Department.

In this hands-on manufacturing position, you will prepare welded tanks and fabricated components for paint by sanding, grinding, cleaning, and finishing surfaces. You will also assist with air and hydrostatic pressure testing to verify the integrity of welded tanks and piping systems.

Previous manufacturing experience is preferred, but we provide hands-on training for motivated candidates who are willing to learn.

Position Summary

The Finishing & Testing Department is responsible for preparing welded tanks, piping, and fabricated components for the painting process and performing pressure and leak testing on completed welded assemblies.

Employees in this position use grinders, sanders, and other power tools to remove weld spatter, sharp edges, surface imperfections, and other conditions that could affect the final painted product. They also assist with pressure testing tanks and piping systems using air and water to verify that completed products meet quality requirements.

This position requires strong attention to detail, good work habits, and a willingness to perform physically active, hands-on work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Use air grinders, electric grinders, sanders, and other power tools to prepare welded surfaces for paint.
  • Remove weld spatter, sharp edges, burrs, oxidation, and surface imperfections.
  • Sand and blend welded areas to achieve a clean, consistent finished surface.
  • Clean and prepare tanks, piping, and fabricated components prior to painting.
  • Perform or assist with air pressure testing and hydrostatic testing of welded tanks and piping systems.
  • Inspect tested components for leaks and other defects.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and identifying areas requiring repair or additional finishing.
  • Accurately complete required testing and inspection documentation.
  • Maintain testing equipment, hoses, fittings, tools, and work areas.
  • Follow established work instructions, testing procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with welders, inspectors, supervisors, and other production personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.


Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
  • Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn.
  • Comfortable using grinders, sanders, and other hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and performing physically active work throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable entering confined spaces when required after receiving proper training.
  • Previous manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, construction, bodywork, metal finishing, or power-tool experience is preferred but not required.
  • Previous pressure testing or inspection experience is a plus but not required.
