- Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and newborn care in an LDRP unit.
- Perform maternal and fetal assessments, including continuous fetal heart rate and contraction monitoring.
- Conduct obstetric triage and assess labor progression through sterile vaginal examinations.
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate during Cesarean section procedures.
- Provide antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn nursing care while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Monitor mothers and newborns for complications, including pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH), neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), and postpartum hemorrhage.
- Operate and monitor specialized obstetric equipment, including wireless fetal monitoring systems and the JADA device for postpartum hemorrhage management.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and emergency obstetric treatments as prescribed.
- Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and discharge planning.
- Respond rapidly to obstetric emergencies while collaborating with obstetricians, pediatricians, anesthesia providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Epic.
- Float within the OB department as needed to assist with newborn care, IV starts, and unit support when Labor & Delivery census is low.Requirements
- Active RN License.
- Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery/LDRP RN experience.
- Previous travel nursing experience required (seasoned travelers only).
- Current BLS certification.
- Current NRP certification.
- Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) preferred.
- STABLE certification preferred.
