Journeyman Electrician

Position Summary
Quality "Plus" Services (QPS) is seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians to support industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects throughout Petersburg, VA and the surrounding region. This role requires a strong working knowledge of electrical systems, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently while supporting project schedules and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
- Run, bend, and install conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC)
- Pull, terminate, and test electrical wiring and components
- Install panels, breakers, transformers, motor controls, and lighting systems
- Perform electrical testing using meters and diagnostic equipment
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements
- Coordinate with foremen, supervisors, and other trades on site
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Assist apprentices and less experienced electricians as needed
Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent documented experience
- Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program preferred
- 4+ years of hands-on electrical experience in industrial or commercial settings
- Strong knowledge of NEC and electrical safety standards
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including drug testing
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work Environment & Schedule
- Industrial plants, commercial facilities, and construction job sites
- Regional travel may be required depending on project needs
- Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required
