Cardiology Nurse Practitioner

Job description

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join its Cardiac Services / Special Procedures team. This advanced practice role provides an opportunity to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to exceptional clinical outcomes.


The Nurse Practitioner will function as a clinical expert, providing comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, patient education, and ongoing care management across the cardiac services continuum.


Schedule: Full-Time Day Shift 12-Hour Shifts


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions within scope of practice.
  • Order, interpret, and utilize diagnostic testing to support clinical decision-making.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and preventive care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance enhancement activities.
  • Promote patient safety, regulatory compliance, and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.
  • National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience as a Nurse Practitioner in cardiology, cardiovascular services, acute care, or procedural settings.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills.
