Schedule Full-time: shifts per month
Monday Friday plus one weekend per month
Day Call: 1:3 (8:00 AM 5:00 PM)
Night Call: 1:4 (5:00 PM 8:00 AM)
Weekend call: 1:4
Practice Highlights Inpatient Behavioral Health setting
Care for adults and adolescents (ages 8 17)
36-bed Behavioral Health Unit (28 adult beds, 8 adolescent beds)
Work alongside 3 Psychiatrists and 7 Advanced Practice Providers
Average patients per day
Average daily census: 18 patients
Psychiatrist supervision with co-signature support
Collaborative multidisciplinary team including nurses, social workers, recreational therapists, discharge planners, and behavioral health technicians
Teaching opportunities with nursing students, OT students, and Family Medicine residents
Level III Trauma Center
EMR: Cerner (transitioning to Epic in September 2026)
Responsibilities Psychiatric evaluations and admission assessments
Perform physical examinations and daily rounding
Diagnose and manage psychiatric conditions
Prescribe and manage medications
Order and interpret diagnostic studies
Coordinate patient care with supervising psychiatrists
Hospital consults and emergency department admissions
Patient and family education
Addiction education and management
Conditions Treated Psychotic Disorders

Requirements
Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Active Iowa License (required for immediate start)
Minimum experience required (No new graduates)
