Ready to lead technical excellence in a fast paced manufacturing environment? Our client in Plainfield, IN, is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to keep high speed production equipment running at peak performance while serving as a subject matter expert and mentor on the maintenance team.
Senior Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Uphold and enforce the highest standards of safety and GMP practices across the facility.
- Train and mentor Operators, Mechanics, and Supervisors on technical procedures for high speed bottle manufacturing and packaging.
- Collaborate with plant leadership on continuous improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and solutions to recurring issues.
- Quickly identify root causes of mechanical issues to minimize downtime and prevent reoccurrence.
- Partner with fellow Senior Technicians on cross functional problem-solving initiatives.
- Use software tools to analyze equipment performance and identify areas for throughput improvement.
- Define requirements and lead equipment overhaul efforts during scheduled downtimes.
- Train team members in operating and troubleshooting equipment within bottling production, including:
- Blow molding: PET processing, machine setup, mold changes, quality systems
- Filling/Capping: beverage processing, cap feeding, vision systems, laser coders, sanitation standards
- Labeling: roll fed or cut and stack systems, hot melt glue systems
- Dry-end packaging: case packers, conveyors, palletizers (conventional/robotic), stretch wrappers
- Common OEMs: Krones, Sidel, KHS, Sacmi, Tech Long
- Train team members in injection molding technologies, including:
- Husky injection systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, electromechanical)
- Resin handling, drying, dehumidification, vision inspection, conveying, cooling
- Mold maintenance and troubleshooting of wear components
- High speed plastics processing with tight tolerances and AA control
- Create and upload SOPs; support machine reliability and improvement of MTBF metrics.
- Maintain regular, predictable attendance and participate in on call rotations.
- Perform physical tasks required in a manufacturing setting (standing/walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs).
- Must provide own toolbox and basic tools.
- Other duties may be assigned as business needs evolve.
Senior Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- 6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- 6 years in a directly related maintenance role
- 4 years leading people or managing projects
- Demonstrated cross department communication and problem resolution skills
