Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join a growing manufacturing team specializing in custom industrial equipment. This is a hands-on position responsible for fabricating, fitting, welding, and assembling heavy steel components from blueprints and engineering drawings. Candidates should take pride in producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on carbon steel and structural steel components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Lay out, fit, and fabricate parts to precise specifications.
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, drill presses, ironworkers, and other shop equipment.
- Assemble custom equipment and structural weldments.
- Inspect completed welds for quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Work closely with supervisors and engineering to resolve fabrication issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area while following all safety procedures.
- Meet daily production and quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong MIG welding experience required.
- Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Experience using measuring tools including tape measures, squares, levels, and calipers.
- Ability to fabricate from raw materials with minimal supervision.
- Experience with heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or custom fabrication is highly preferred.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with structural steel fabrication.
- Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Ability to perform fit-up, layout, and assembly of custom equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
