Lapping / O.D. Grinding Operator
Pay: $22-$30 (open for negotiation - based on experience)
Shifts: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Location: Addison, IL
Type: Temp to Hire
Requirements: Resume / Interview / Authorization to work in the U.S./ BG Check/ DT-9 Panel
Our client is a precision manufacturing company specializing in high-quality components and machining solutions. They are seeking a Lapping / O.D. Grinding Operator to support operations within their Lapping Department.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor lapping/grinding machines to perform precision finishing operations.
- Set up parts according to specifications and work instructions.
- Perform lapping processes to achieve required flatness, surface finish, and dimensional tolerances.
- Inspect parts using measuring tools and document results.
- Identify issues or defects and communicate concerns to supervision or engineering.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Previouse experience using gages
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Prior machine operating experience (lapping experience preferred -willing to train the right candidate).
- Basic math skills (addition and subtraction).
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to follow work instructions and quality requirements.
- Reliable, punctual, and honest - comfortable speaking up if unsure or if an issue arises.
- Willingness to learn.
