Job Title: Commercial HVAC-R Technician
Location: Primarily Phoenix Area

Position Summary:
The Commercial HVAC-R Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including RTUs, split systems, chillers, boilers, and walk-in coolers/freezers.

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using appropriate tools and testing equipment.

  • Perform preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and improve system performance.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and safety regulations.

  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members regarding system issues and repair solutions.

  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed.

  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial HVAC-R service or installation.

  • EPA Section 608 Certification (required).

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and electrical troubleshooting.

  • Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools (multimeters, gauges, etc.).

  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.

  • Strong customer service and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NATE certification or equivalent.

  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and controls.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

  • Experience with large commercial equipment (chillers, cooling towers, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in varying weather conditions.

  • Prolonged standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders.
