    Job Details
  • Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
  • Prepares patients for exam using appropriate body mechanics.
  • Identifies proper exams based on patient need and utilizes correct exam techniques.
  • Produces quality images through the appropriate operation of equipment/instrumentation.
  • Follows proper patient identification protocols.
  • Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
  • Maintains work area and stocks needed supplies.
  • Transports patients as needed.
  • Develops specific knowledge with regard to invasive, diagnostic and interventional supplies, appropriate indications and applications, and proper use and deployment techniques.
  • At the end of the procedure, may apply closure device, suture the sheath in place, or remove the sheath and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis.
  • Understands and applies principles of x-ray generation and safety.
  • Understands and demonstrates the correct operation of imaging equipment.
  • Provides patient education, as needed and assures patient comfort.
  • Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech, according to Angio lab policies and procedures and Scope of Practice documents.
    Job Requirements
  • One (1) year of vascular or interventional experience required.
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • ARRT registration required.
  • State of Utah Radiologic Technologist License required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Vascular/Interventional radiography certification or one year of Angio/Interventional experience required.
    Schedule Information
  • Shift: 10 hour days with call - 4 shifts, days may vary.
  • On-call required.
  • Weekends on call only.
  • 40 hours per week.
    Additional Details
  • Radiation badge (dosimeter) required for this assignment; facility can supply temporary badge if needed, but supplier provided is preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include ACLS or PALS certification.
  • Preferred skills include ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication and quick understanding during emergencies.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Physical requirements include lifting, bending, walking, assisting with patient transport, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must navigate crowded and busy rooms with equipment and power cords.
