Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
Prepares patients for exam using appropriate body mechanics.
Identifies proper exams based on patient need and utilizes correct exam techniques.
Produces quality images through the appropriate operation of equipment/instrumentation.
Follows proper patient identification protocols.
Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
Maintains work area and stocks needed supplies.
Transports patients as needed.
Develops specific knowledge with regard to invasive, diagnostic and interventional supplies, appropriate indications and applications, and proper use and deployment techniques.
At the end of the procedure, may apply closure device, suture the sheath in place, or remove the sheath and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis.
Understands and applies principles of x-ray generation and safety.
Understands and demonstrates the correct operation of imaging equipment.
Provides patient education, as needed and assures patient comfort.
Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech, according to Angio lab policies and procedures and Scope of Practice documents.

One (1) year of vascular or interventional experience required.
HS diploma or GED required.
ARRT registration required.
State of Utah Radiologic Technologist License required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Vascular/Interventional radiography certification or one year of Angio/Interventional experience required.

Radiation badge (dosimeter) required for this assignment; facility can supply temporary badge if needed, but supplier provided is preferred.
Preferred certifications include ACLS or PALS certification.
Preferred skills include ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication and quick understanding during emergencies.
Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
Physical requirements include lifting, bending, walking, assisting with patient transport, and standing for extended periods.
Must navigate crowded and busy rooms with equipment and power cords.
