Locums - Orthopedic Surgeon Waterloo, Iowa (IMLC Accepted)Availability
  • Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
  • Coverage: On-call only (No clinic responsibilities)
  • Must be available to cover ALL of the following blocks:
    • September 14 (7:00 AM) - September 28 (7:00 AM)
    • November 6 (7:00 AM) - November 9 (7:00 AM)
    • December 14 (7:00 AM) - December 28 (7:00 AM)
Licensure & Certifications
  • Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery - Required
  • Active Iowa License OR Active IMLC - Required
    • Please provide Letter of Qualification (LOQ) with name clear
  • Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship - Required
Required Experience
  • Experienced Orthopedic Surgeon
  • Must be able to provide inpatient orthopedic coverage and call
  • Comfortable treating patients of all ages
  • Experience managing:
    • Orthopedic trauma
    • Fractures and musculoskeletal injuries
    • Spine, hand, foot, hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow conditions
    • Infections, tumors, deformities, and degenerative musculoskeletal diseases
  • Able to perform admissions, consultations, evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Comfortable providing care in the ICU when needed
  • Able to assess and stabilize emergent orthopedic conditions
Schedule
  • On-call coverage only
  • No clinic responsibilities
  • Covers inpatient orthopedic service
  • Physician is required to answer all incoming orthopedic consult and call requests (non-negotiable)
Practice Details
  • Inpatient orthopedic coverage at two local hospitals
  • Average daily census: 10-20 patients
  • No supervision of Advanced Practice Providers required
  • Medical Staff appointment required
  • No outreach or telehealth responsibilities
  • EMR: Epic
  • Access to on-site imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services
  • Patient population: All ages
