Surgery - Vascular Physician Assistant

Job description

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 am - 7 pm and 7 am - 3 pm shifts
  • Call: 1-2 weeknight call per week; 1:4 weekend call
  • Required experience: open and endoscopic vein harvest & chest tube placement
  • Preferred active license due to the emergent need to start but will consider licensing
  • Certifications Required: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Specialty: Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery APP
  • Inpatient, Outpatient or both: Primarily Inpatient
  • Target start date and Length of need: ASAP - 3-6 months
  • Call Schedule and Call Responsibilities: 1-2 weekday calls/week and 1 in 4 weekends
  • Responsibilities include CVSICU post op patient resuscitation, nursing and patient calls from home, weekend inpatient rounding, responding to stat consults/change in clinical status, emergent OR cases.
  • Type of patients/cases/procedures required: Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, MUST be EVH/OVH capable. CVSICU, floor management, inpatient consults, outpatient office coverage.
  • Patient Encounters per shift: 10-20
  • Available support staff: Surgeons, fellow APCS, nursing
