Locums - Martin, Kentucky Hematology/Oncology Opportunity
Clinical Role
Join an established outpatient hematology/oncology practice in Martin, Kentucky, providing comprehensive care in a collaborative, patient-focused environment. This long-term locums opportunity offers a low-volume clinic schedule, strong APP and nursing support, and a balanced mix of hematology and medical oncology patients.
Assignment Details

Providers with recent patient-facing experience are required
Providers may start earlier if available
Contract Length:
Twelve months preferred
Coverage Requirements:
Three clinic days per week preferred
The client is open to two providers sharing coverage on alternating schedules
One-week or two-week alternating coverage schedules will be considered
Schedule:
Monday through Friday
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
No call responsibilities

Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Practice Setting:
Outpatient clinic
Private practice setting
Patient Population:
Adult hematology and oncology patients
Patient Volume:
Approximately 15 patients per day
Approximately 20% new patient visits
Approximately 80% follow-up visits
Clinical Focus:
Approximately 60% hematology
Approximately 40% solid tumor oncology
High-acuity cases, including acute leukemias, are typically referred to tertiary care centers
Clinical Responsibilities:
Outpatient hematology and oncology evaluations
Management of hematologic and oncologic conditions
Infusion supervision
Participation in multidisciplinary tumor board
Treatment planning and follow-up care
Collaboration with APPs and oncology nursing staff
Support & Technology
Support Staff:
One onsite Advanced Practice Provider daily
Three hematology/oncology physicians located at the affiliated Hazard practice
Dedicated oncology-trained infusion nurses
APPs assist with:
Follow-up visits
Supportive care
Documentation
Order entry in collaboration with the physician
EMR System:
Meditech
Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology or Medical Oncology - Required
Recent patient-facing clinical experience - Required
Ability to participate in tumor board conferences - Required
Credentialing Timeframe
Approximately 60 days
