Position Overview
Seeking a Board Certified, Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Surgeon to provide inpatient orthopedic surgery and call coverage at two hospital locations. This assignment is call-only with no clinic responsibilities. The provider must cover both facilities and respond to all incoming orthopedic calls.
Compensation:
24 Hour On Call: $2875 per 24 hours
Call Back: $415/hr

Responsibilities
Provide 24-hour orthopedic surgery call coverage
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat orthopedic conditions and injuries
Perform inpatient consultations and surgical procedures
Respond to emergency department consults
Manage orthopedic trauma and musculoskeletal conditions
Assess and stabilize emergent orthopedic patients
Provide care in the intensive care setting when appropriate
Answer all incoming orthopedic calls to the facility (required)

Four Advanced Practice Providers
No APP supervision required

Requirements
Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
Fellowship trained in Orthopedic Surgery
Active Iowa license or active IMLC Letter of Qualification (LOQ)
Experienced orthopedic surgeon
Must be available for all three required coverage blocks
Clean malpractice and background history
Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation
Additional Information
No outpatient clinic responsibilities
Medical imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services available
Travel reimbursement available for airfare, lodging, rental car, and IRS-standard mileage
Preferred hotel and rental car vendors available
Trinity Health does not reimburse credentialing or application fees
