Job Description: Civil Defense Attorney - Sacramento, CA (Remote/Hybrid Options)Location: Sacramento, California (remote and hybrid options available)

Compensation: $130,000 - $275,000 base salary + bonus

Annual Hours Expectation: 1,900

About The RoleWe are seeking attorneys to join our civil defense litigation practice in California. Candidates with experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply, and flexible work arrangements are available across our 11 offices statewide:

Flexible work options are available, including fully remote arrangements for California-licensed attorneys. Candidates with 3+ years of experience are preferred, but all experience levels are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Manage civil defense litigation matters from intake through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement documents
Conduct legal research and factual investigation
Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses for hearings and trials
Participate in mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
Collaborate with senior attorneys and cross-office teams
Communicate with clients regarding strategy, updates, and litigation posture
Qualifications

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Licensed and admitted to practice in California (required)
3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred; all levels encouraged
Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Self-starter able to manage cases independently while working collaboratively
Trial experience preferred but not required
