Locums - Hawarden, Iowa - NP/PA Hybrid Hospitalist / Emergency Medicine Job

- Seeking a board certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Coverage dates: 7/24 orientation and 7/25-7/27 (noon-to-noon handoff)
- Practice at a licensed 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (17 operational beds)
- Hybrid Hospitalist and Emergency Medicine role
- 24-hour shifts with 24/7 call coverage
- Daily interdisciplinary rounds beginning at 8:00 AM
- Weekly swing bed rounds focused on transitions of care
- Average inpatient census of 4-6 patients
- Emergency department averages 6-8 patient encounters per day (2,500-2,700 annual visits)
- No ICU or skilled nursing facility
- Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, cellulitis, and gastrointestinal conditions
- Telemedicine support available from Cardiology, Pulmonology, and Infectious Disease
- Onsite laboratory and imaging services with full radiology capabilities (excluding nuclear medicine)
- EMR: Thrive with TruBridge
- Three affiliated clinics, including one attached to the hospital
- Must have at least two years of autonomous practice experience
- Provider must be comfortable managing both inpatient and emergency department patients independently and performing required procedures
- Active Iowa license required
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: approximately 60 days
