Vanderbilt University Medical Center - Division of Infectious Diseases

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking outstanding clinical faculty members to pursue a career as academic clinician-educators with administrative leadership responsibilities in Antimicrobial Stewardship.

Position Summary

We are recruiting an Attending Infectious Diseases Physician who will:

  • Provide care in both the ambulatory clinic and the inpatient consultative service
  • Serve as the Director of Adult Inpatient Antimicrobial Stewardship at a large academic hospital
  • Collaborate closely with a dedicated team of three inpatient Antimicrobial Stewardship pharmacists to optimize antibiotic utilization, evaluate and implement program initiatives, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Clinical training and experience in Infectious Diseases in both acute care hospital and ambulatory settings
  • At least 2 years of operational Antimicrobial Stewardship experience
  • Experience collaborating with pharmacists and other professionals to support stewardship initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead interdisciplinary efforts
  • A track record of scholarly work in antimicrobial resistance or stewardship (highly desirable)
  • Previous leadership experience (preferred)

Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Diseases and legally authorized to work in the United States.
