The position requires working night shifts, with a schedule of 12-hour shifts, and includes weekend and holiday rotation responsibilities.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with weekend (Saturday/Sunday nights or Friday/Saturday nights) and holiday rotation.
- Required Qualifications: Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or confirmation that application has been initiated; Minimum of 1 year hospital experience; BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification preferred for Charge RN position; experience with titrating drips such as Heparin; ability to read telemetry strips and handle patients with oxygen requirements up to 6L NC, BiPAP/CPAP (nightly or PRN).
- Responsibilities: Managing patient care for general medical patients, including titration of drips, reading telemetry strips (via Phillips monitors), and utilizing unit resources such as inpatient phlebotomy and RT services.
- Additional Information: Travel RNs are typically oriented with one 12-hour shift alongside a unit preceptor. Float requirements include assignment to other units as needed; no call or standby required. Staff are expected to wear any color scrubs, providing their own, with no pediatric scrubs permitted.
