Director - Commercial

Expand Energy

Spring, Texas, United States

Job description

Director - Commercial

Expand Energy is entering a period of significant growth, and how we structure, negotiate, and execute our commercial strategy will directly determine the value we capture. We're looking for a Director, Commercial to lead that charge. This is a high-impact leadership role at the center of the business, responsible for shaping how we move product across midstream systems. You'll own the commercial strategy across gathering and processing, ensuring we are not only operationally aligned, but commercially optimized to support growth at scale. You'll be stepping into a role where strategy meets execution. From setting the long-term direction of our midstream portfolio, to leading complex negotiations and navigating real-time operational constraints, this position requires someone who can think ahead, act decisively, and influence across the business. Just as importantly, you'll lead and build a high-performing commercial team, creating the structure, pace, and accountability needed to deliver against an ambitious growth agenda.

Setting and leading the commercial strategy across midstream services (gathering, processing)
Owning and optimizing a complex portfolio of third-party midstream agreements to maximize value and manage risk
Leading high-value commercial negotiations and structuring agreements that support long-term growth
Aligning commercial commitments with production forecasts, infrastructure capacity, and operational realities
Identifying and unlocking new opportunities across infrastructure, partnerships, and system optimization
Building, leading, and developing a high-performing commercial team
Partnering cross-functionally to deliver integrated, commercially sound outcomes

You are a commercially astute leader who understands how infrastructure, midstream contracts, and market dynamics intersect and how to turn that into competitive advantage. You bring a balance of strategic thinking and execution focus, with the ability to operate in a complex, fast-moving environment and influence outcomes at a senior level.

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Energy Management, Marketing, or related field
Preferred: Advanced degree (e.g., MBA)
Minimum: 12 years of relevant experience in energy, midstream, or commercial roles
Preferred: 2 years leadership experience
Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation, commercial strategy, and portfolio management
