Psychiatry Physician

Omaha, Nebraska

• Ongoing locums coverage
• Full-time schedule: 5 days/week
• Weekend coverage: 1 weekend shift per month (rotating with 4-5 attending psychiatrists)
• Additional coverage: 22 extra 5-day blocks during 5-week months
• Possible evening call responsibility

• Active Nebraska Medical License - RequiredOR
• Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) - Highly preferred

• Board Certified in Psychiatry - Required
• BLS - Required

• Inpatient adult psychiatric hospital (64 beds)
• 24/7 psychiatric emergency department
• High-acuity inpatient psychiatry service

• Psychiatric evaluations and assessments
• Daily inpatient rounding
• Treatment team facilitation
• Medication management
• Inpatient admissions (approximately 1-3 per provider per day)
• Weekend and rotating call coverage
• Psychiatric emergency department coverage support as needed

• Majority Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI)
• High Medicaid population
• Substance use prevalence: marijuana, methamphetamine, alcohol
• Less than 20% involuntary admissions

• 12-14 patients per day

• Psychiatric attending group (4-5 psychiatrists total)
• Nursing staff
• Social workers
• Therapists
• Mental health technicians
• Hospitalist NPs
• Psychiatric NP coverage on weekends
• Medical director and administrative support

• High-demand inpatient psychiatric setting with open beds due to staffing shortages
• Collaborative multidisciplinary team environment
• 24/7 emergency psychiatric services
• Epic EMR

• Board Certified in Psychiatry - Required
• Active Nebraska License or IMLC - Required (IMLC strongly preferred)
• BLS Certification - Required
• Availability for rotating weekend and weekday inpatient coverage - Required
