Job description

Endovascular Neurosurgeon
Position Overview

Seeking a Board Certified Endovascular Neurosurgeon to provide recurring inpatient vascular neurosurgical call coverage at a high-volume Comprehensive Stroke Center. This assignment is exclusively dedicated to cerebrovascular care with no spine, trauma, tumor, or general neurosurgery responsibilities.

Compensation:

Open rates

Schedule
Approximately 10 days per month
Coverage organized into 2 3 predictable blocks of 3 4 consecutive days
Approximately 1 2 weekends per month
24-hour call while on service
Ongoing recurring assignment
Practice Setting
Comprehensive Stroke Center
100% Inpatient
No clinic
No elective practice
No outpatient follow-up
Responsibilities
Mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke
Management of ruptured and complex intracranial aneurysms
Treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhage
Neuroendovascular management of intracranial hemorrhage
Treatment of cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs)
Treatment of dural arteriovenous fistulas (dAVFs)
Management of carotid and intracranial occlusive disease
Emergency department and inpatient cerebrovascular consultations
Interpretation of advanced cerebrovascular imaging
Diagnostic cerebral angiography
Endovascular aneurysm treatment
Open vascular neurosurgical procedures when appropriate
Peri-procedural inpatient management
Practice Highlights
170+ mechanical thrombectomies annually
More than 100 intracranial aneurysms treated annually
Two fellowship-trained neurointerventional neurosurgeons
Dedicated Neuro ICU
Comprehensive multidisciplinary stroke program
24/7 Advanced Practice Provider support
Experienced neurocritical care, stroke neurology, anesthesia, emergency medicine, and operating room teams

Requirements
Board Certified Neurosurgeon
Endovascular/vascular neurosurgical expertise
Active Maine license or Active IMLC LOQ preferred (licensing candidates considered)
Epic experience required
References at presentation (2 supervisors and 1 peer)
Self-Query NPDB dated within 30 days
COVID and influenza vaccination required
Must provide:
Years of locum experience
Overall years of experience
Travel origin city
Responses to required professionalism and credentialing questions
Additional Information
Coverage is limited exclusively to vascular neurosurgical patients
Predictable recurring schedule with approximately 10 days of coverage per month
Travel reimbursement available per policy
Conversion fee subject to contractual terms and hours worked
