    Job Details
  • Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under supervision of Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director.
  • Responsible for care of Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations.
  • Disassemble, wash, rinse, dry and package respiratory equipment.
  • Evaluate results of patient respiratory care per care plans.
  • Demonstrate competency in clinical judgment, technical skills, and knowledge base.
  • Prepare and test respiratory therapy equipment for safe operation; check equipment on units for proper operation and routine service.
  • Report malfunctioning equipment to manager.
  • Process and maintain respiratory equipment.
  • Accurately chart on respiratory flow sheets in EMR and on care plans; charge accurately in EMR.
  • Complete assessments on ventilator patients and others on respiratory care services.
  • Recommend timely interventions and need for further treatment or referral.
  • Record procedures, patient response, and compliance with sleep therapy documentation; consult with Respiratory Care Practitioner on adverse effects and compliance.
  • Relay information in writing to physician.
  • Evaluate patients for routine respiratory care therapy on inpatient units and Emergency room.
  • Obtain and analyze blood gases - Arterial, Venous, and Capillary.
  • Assist cleaning respiratory care related equipment and stocking supplies on inpatient care units.
    Job Requirements
  • Solid understanding of all aspects of Respiratory care.
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
  • BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
  • Illinois RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner) license required.
  • NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist required.
    Schedule Information
  • Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
  • 12 hours per day.
  • 36 hours per week.
  • On Call - NONE.
