Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under supervision of Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director.
Responsible for care of Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations.
Disassemble, wash, rinse, dry and package respiratory equipment.
Evaluate results of patient respiratory care per care plans.
Demonstrate competency in clinical judgment, technical skills, and knowledge base.
Prepare and test respiratory therapy equipment for safe operation; check equipment on units for proper operation and routine service.
Report malfunctioning equipment to manager.
Process and maintain respiratory equipment.
Accurately chart on respiratory flow sheets in EMR and on care plans; charge accurately in EMR.
Complete assessments on ventilator patients and others on respiratory care services.
Recommend timely interventions and need for further treatment or referral.
Record procedures, patient response, and compliance with sleep therapy documentation; consult with Respiratory Care Practitioner on adverse effects and compliance.
Relay information in writing to physician.
Evaluate patients for routine respiratory care therapy on inpatient units and Emergency room.
Obtain and analyze blood gases - Arterial, Venous, and Capillary.
Assist cleaning respiratory care related equipment and stocking supplies on inpatient care units.
