Pulmonology Physician

Coverage Needed

• Start Date: As soon as credentialed
• End Date: Ongoing for 6 months
• Schedule: Full time; Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Some outreach at 2 clinics (approx. one day per week)

Clinical Details

• EMR System: Meditech Expanse
• Practice Settings: Outpatient only
  • No inpatient responsibilities and no call
• Balanced combination of outpatient clinic, interpretation of sleep studies and in-lab polysomnography, and coordination of comprehensive sleep care
• Required Procedures/Duties:
  • Evaluate and manage new and established patients with a broad range of sleep disorders
  • Diagnose and treat conditions including obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia, restless legs syndrome, REM sleep behavior disorder, and circadian rhythm disorders
  • Interpretation of sleep studies and attended polysomnography
  • Management of positive airway pressure (PAP/CPAP/BiPAP) therapy and monitor treatment effectiveness and compliance
  • Prescribe and manage medications related to sleep disorders
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing and coordinate durable medical equipment (DME) when indicated
  • Educate patients and families regarding sleep disorders, treatment options, and long-term disease management
  • Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy, sleep technologists, primary care providers, pulmonology, cardiology, neurology, ENT, and other specialists to provide coordinated care
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in Meditech Expanse

Requirements

• Board Certified in Sleep Medicine
  • Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine highly preferred
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Internal Medicine or related specialty
• Certifications: BLS certification
• Active New Hampshire medical license or ability to obtain
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience
