Job description

Exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, physician-owned practice in Northeast Michigan as a BE/BC General Radiologist, covering general radiology, breast imaging, and light interventional procedures across two hospitals with an alternate 5/9 schedule designed for work-life balance and extended time off.

Position Details:
  • Full- time, partnership- track position with no evenings or weekend responsibilities
  • Alternate 5/ 9 schedule: 5 days on- site coverage followed by 9 days off
  • Total required workdays per year: 130 ( 26 weeks); total days off: 234
  • Work across two hospital locations in Northeast and Central Michigan; 3-hour drive between sites
  • Full compensation and benefits, including travel expenses
  • Location flexibility; proximity to sites and willingness to travel required
Practice Highlights:
  • 100% physician- owned and managed, independent practice
  • Opportunities for academic involvement: teaching, mentoring residents, and research if desired
  • Large diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure
  • Entrepreneurial environment with optional involvement in practice decision- making
Responsibilities Location 1:
  • Interventional procedures: IR drain placements, lumbar punctures, FL arthrograms, GI FL, paras, thoras, CT and US- guided biopsies
  • Breast procedures: stereotactic and US- guided biopsies, breast screening and diagnostics
  • Average procedures per day: 11
  • Support: one full- time advanced practice provider ( APP) on site
Responsibilities Location 2:
  • Breast imaging focus: screening, diagnostics, US and stereotactic biopsies, pre- surgical lesion localizations
  • Additional procedures: thyroid nodule, lymph node, soft tissue biopsies, occasional cholecystostomy tube placement, CT lung/ solid organ/ soft tissue biopsies, abscess catheter placement, PICC placements, occasional joint arthrograms, HSGs, and joint injections for pain management
  • Average procedures per day: 9
  • Support: APP on site 3 days per week

Requirements:
  • American Board of Radiology or AOBR certified / Board- Eligible
  • Significant experience in breast imaging and procedures, MQSA certified
  • Significant experience in basic IR procedures
  • Fellowship training in breast or IR preferred; significant practice experience considered
  • Comfortable working autonomously in rural sites

Compensation & Benefits:
  • $ 100k recruitment incentive payable upon signing
  • Competitive base salary with opportunity for additional compensation by picking up extra shifts
  • $ 0 cost for medical/ dental/ vision coverage + $ 18k annual medical reimbursement account
  • Maximum 401( k) contribution allowed ($ 70k in 2025)
  • 6- week paid parental leave ( coordinated with 12 weeks FMLA)
