Job Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity providing overnight emergency imaging coverage for a large academic healthcare system in Michigan. This fully remote position offers consistent scheduling, resident teaching responsibilities, and the opportunity to work within a high-volume emergency radiology environment.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable interpreting a broad range of emergency and acute care imaging studies, collaborating with residents during overnight shifts, and delivering timely, high-quality diagnostic interpretations. Providers interested in covering one week per month or multiple weeks per month are encouraged to apply.

Assignment Details

Specialty: Diagnostic Radiology
Practice Setting: Telehealth / Teleradiology
Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only
Start Date: September 1, 2026
End Date: December 31, 2026
Schedule: 11:00 PM 7:00 AM EST
Coverage Need: 2 3 weeks per month preferred
Minimum Availability: At least 7 shifts per month
Patient Volume: Approximately emergency department cases per 8-hour shift

Responsibilities
  • Provide overnight remote diagnostic radiology coverage
  • Interpret emergency and acute care imaging studies
  • Deliver accurate and timely reports in a high-volume setting
  • Collaborate with overnight clinical teams
  • Teach and support radiology residents during shifts
  • Participate in phone consultations as needed
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and reporting standards
Qualifications Required
  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology
  • Active Michigan medical license
  • Clean malpractice history
  • Strong experience in emergency and acute care radiology
  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume overnight environment
  • Resident teaching experience or willingness to teach residents
