Job description

Adelphi is seeking a licensed Primary Care Physician for a full-time, short-term assignment (minimum 3 months) in Taylor County, Texas. The ideal candidate will provide primary care, manage acute and chronic conditions, and complete required medical assessments.

Patient Load: Caseload of 3545 patients; typically no more than 10 patients per day

Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Current Texas medical license in good standing with no history of sanctions
Active DEA, NPI, and CPR/BLS certifications
Ability to meet all agency and facility requirements prior to start
Experience treating acute and chronic medical conditions
Experience with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities preferred
Familiarity with electronic health records, particularly Cerner, preferred
Prior experience at a State Hospital or SSLC advantageous

Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of 3545 patients, typically =10 per day.
Provide medical care for acute illness, injury, follow-up, and ongoing primary care.
Conduct clinics and complete annual and interval medical assessments.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
Document patient care in the electronic health record.
Provide on-call coverage every 6th weekday (5:00 PM8:00 AM) and one weekend every 6 weeks.
Respond to most on-call needs by phone, with rare return to campus as needed.
Perform weekend/holiday infirmary rounds and evaluate acute illnesses or injuries.
Perform other duties as assigned.
