    Job Details
  • ED Observation RN position working nights and every other weekend (EOW) for 36 hours per week.
  • Unit Name: Observation Unit with 16 new observation beds for patients and holds.
  • Patient population is adult.
  • Clinician to patient ratio is 4:1 or 5:1 depending on unit needs.
  • Skills required include general ED nursing skills such as assessment, documentation, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point of care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education.
  • Floating and rotating shifts are required.
    Job Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience working in one location and 2 years working as a traveler.
  • Active Massachusetts RN license required.
  • Certifications required: AHA ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC.
  • Must be able to read telemetry strips.
    Schedule Information
  • Shift: 19:00 - 07:30 (night shift).
  • 36 hours per week.
  • Every other weekend (EOW) schedule.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Observation Unit with 16 beds.
  • Adult patient population.
  • Clinician to patient ratio 4:1 or 5:1 depending on unit needs.
  • Must be able to read telemetry strips.
  • Floating and rotating shifts required.
    Additional Details
  • Must complete MGB Medication Exam with 80% passing within 365 days.
  • Must complete MGB Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam with 80% passing.
  • Fit Test (N95) required within 365 days and updated annually.
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation required if fit test is required.
  • Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity required.
  • TB test documentation required within 3 months of start date and updated if break >6 months.
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days and updated if break >6 months.
  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date and updated if break >6 months.
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date and updated if break >6 months.
  • MGB Resume including past 7 years of work experience required for submission.
  • Two references within 4 years required for submission, minimum one supervisor or above in skillset.
  • MGB Skills Checklist must be completed within 1 year of submission.
  • MGB Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form required for all initial assignments and extensions.
  • Education verification required through background check company.
  • SSN Trace must be run with criminal check.
  • National Sex Offender Check run within 30 days of start and updated annually.
  • Exclusion checks run within 30 days of start and annually.
  • Name change documentation required if credentials do not match current legal name.
  • TB symptom survey required if positive PPD, completed prior to start and updated annually.
  • Candidate submission coversheet required for submission to initial assignment and new facility.
