The Production Manager is responsible for establishing, managing, and continuously improving manufacturing and assembly operations for a panel fabrication and systems integration shop. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in industrial manufacturing, electrical panel assembly, or custom equipment integration who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day production execution.
IN THE FIRST 4-6 MONTHS
New Assembly Facility Implementation
- Establish and organize a new assembly facility with management guidance
- Coordinate facility readiness activities with contractors, electricians, plumbers, and other service providers
- Ensure facility layout supports efficient workflow, material handling, and future growth
- Identify, source and purchase shelving, workbenches, equipment
- Purchasing tooling; hand tools, measuring devices, jigs, templates to support assembly process
- Establish and maintain a safe working environment
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and applicable local regulations
- Develop and implement inventory organization systems using labels, bins, and storage controls
- Establish material handling and stocking procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain reorder points for critical components and consumables
- Support purchasing and supplier coordination activities
- Establish quality inspection processes and documentation
- Maintain calibrated measurement and inspection equipment
- Create and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality standards. Implement quality control checkpoints throughout the assembly process
- Recruit, onboard, and train production personnel as needed
