Surgery - Vascular Physician

Job Title: Locum Tenens Vascular Surgeon (MD/DO)
Location: Williamsport, PA

Position Overview We are seeking a Board-Certified Vascular Surgeon for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity iin Williamsport, PA. This role focuses on hospital-based care, including rounding, consults, and surgical procedures, with a mix of open and endovascular cases.

Schedule & Coverage

• Estimated Shifts: 14 shifts per month
• Coverage Model: 2 providers needed
• Shift Schedule:
  • 24-hour call coverage (Monday Monday, 8:00 AM 8:00 AM)
  • Sporadic PTO coverage as needed
• Ongoing, consistent coverage opportunity

Clinical Responsibilities

• Hospital-based practice (no clinic responsibilities)
• Daily rounding (typically 8:00 AM 11:00 AM, varies with census)
• Manage:
  • New consults and follow-ups
  • Discharges
• Perform inpatient procedures in:
  • Operating Room (OR)
  • Interventional Radiology (IR) labs
• Procedures include:
  • Open vascular surgery
  • Endovascular interventions
• Average volumes:
  • Consults: 4 15 per day
  • Cases: 2 6 per day
  • Admissions while on call: 1 3

Call Details

• 24-hour call coverage required
• 30-minute response time
• Moderate call volume with consistent case mix
• Provider may work solo at times, but also collaborates with care teams

Facility & Support

• Trauma Level II facility
• EMR: EPIC
• No dedicated APP coverage
• On-site specialties include:
  • Cardiac, Neuro, Interventional Radiology
  • Trauma, EP, Interventional & General Cardiology
  • Orthopedics, Foot & Ankle, Plastic Surgery

Patient Population

• 95% Adult / 5% Pediatric (minimal pediatric exposure)
• Typical vascular surgery cases

Requirements

• Board Certified in Vascular Surgery
• Active Pennsylvania License (required)
• PA DEA required
• Certifications: ACLS & BLS
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• IMLC candidates will NOT be considered
