Whitemore James Black is a legal search firm that is presently working with a boutique law firm in Silicon Valley specializing in complex technology transactions, including intellectual property licensing, marketing, and a myriad of strategic commercial agreements for established and high-growth tech companies. We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Consultant to join our client on a flexible consultancy basis to help drive strategic growth.

Position Overview

This is a remote consultancy role with flexible hours. You will work closely with firm leadership to expand their client base, enhance brand visibility, and support revenue growth through targeted business development and marketing initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with tech companies and other strategic clients.

• Develop high-impact marketing materials, including pitch decks, capability statements, case studies, and thought leadership content.

• Design and implement comprehensive marketing plans and strategies tailored to the firm's tech transactions practice.

• Build and nurture relationships with potential clients and referral sources in the Silicon Valley and broader tech ecosystem.

• Track and report on business development metrics, pipeline activity, and ROI of marketing initiatives.

• Collaborate with partners to refine positioning and go-to-market approaches for specialized tech transaction services.

Qualifications & Experience

5+ years of demonstrated success in business development, marketing, or related roles, ideally within a professional services environment (law firm, consulting, or tech advisory strongly preferred).

• Proven track record of identifying and winning new business opportunities.

• Strong experience creating professional marketing materials and compelling pitch decks.

• Expertise in developing and executing marketing strategies that deliver measurable results.

• Deep understanding of the technology sector and Silicon Valley ecosystem is a significant plus.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a polished, professional presence.

• Self-starter who can work independently in a remote, flexible consultancy arrangement.


Compensation & Terms

Hourly rate negotiable and dependent on experience, with a target of $50 to $100 per hour.

• Flexible hours and fully remote work arrangement.

• Potential for longer-term engagement based on performance and firm needs.
