ACCOUNTING MANAGER & HR MANAGER

Reports to: Peter Clarke, President & COO FLSA: Exempt - Full-Time

Primary Department: Baldwin & Clarke Holding Company, LLC (BCHC)

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for the oversight, management and execution of BaldwinClarke's accounting, finance and HR functions. This position requires a highly detailed and organized professional capable of producing and maintaining high quality and accurate financial records. The Accounting Manager will be relied on to perform day-to-day functional bookkeeping tasks in addition to providing financial information and reporting to assist company management in making informed and actionable business decisions. The Accounting Manager will further encompass the administration of human resource and benefit programs along with supporting various strategic initiatives of BaldwinClarke and its respective operating entities. A successful associate in this role will be a collaborative and team-oriented professional that embraces the opportunity to work with company leadership in the areas of finance, accounting, human resources, and general administration. Salary is negotiable based on experience and skill set.

(Primary) Accounting Responsibilities and Duties:

Plan, coordinate and perform all accounting operational functions

Manage and maintain current accounting platform

Maintain general ledger and perform daily record keeping entries

Facilitate accounts payable and receivable functions, including bill pay and depository activities

Maintain and process payroll, including all payroll and payroll tax reports

Assist with managing various bank relationships and account management

Monitor and report on cash and liquidity positions across various business entities

Coordinate and help administer corporate tax requirements

Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate reporting of individual company and consolidated business results

Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements

Supports annual review and coordinate year-end process with external CPA firm

Develop and prepare annual budgets (and forward-looking projections, as needed)

Cash flow and performance reporting

Provide management reporting, assist with coordination of business vendors, and help ensure compliance with state filing and other business administration requirements

Track and manage vendor relationships

Member of vendor management committee

Manage and maintain corporate filings and registration requirements

(Secondary) Human Resource and Operational Responsibilities and Duties:

Administer various company benefit programs, including insurance, PTO and retirement offerings

Coordinate recruiting of staff

Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with state & federal regulations

Develop procedures to be used in training and new employee orientation

Coordinate performance reviews

Maintain and update Employee Handbook as needed

Coordinate and implement employee benefit programs (PTO, insurance, retirement, etc.)

401k Plan Administration

Process retirement plan contributions

Maintain wage and salary reporting

Track employee PTO balances

Maintain personnel files

Commercial insurance reviews & renewals

Required Skills and Abilities:

Must have or develop extensive knowledge of Baldwin & Clarke's policies and procedures

Must develop a strong understanding of BaldwinClarke's entity-wide service offerings

Capable of assessing current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement and implementation of new processes

Ability to evaluate accounting and internal control systems on an ongoing basis

Qualified to participate in the financial analysis and proficient at financial modeling

Experience working with multiple legal/business entities preferred

Experience within financial services industry highly preferred

Experience with financial reporting requirements

Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills

Strong computer, organizational and clerical skills (Microsoft/PC Windows suite, collaborative software, etc.)

Ability to work independently

Education and Experience:

Minimum of a college bachelor's degree

Minimum 5-7 years' experience in accounting and finance

Professional or financial service industry preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at
