What You ll Do
  • Provide expert perioperative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients with a patient-first approach
  • Assist in complex cardiac surgeries, including endoscopic vein harvesting and surgical procedures
  • Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patient care, including rounding and evaluations in CVICU, floor, and clinic
  • Participate in two full-day clinics weekly with additional patient appointments as needed
  • Rotate through operating room coverage Monday through Friday
  • Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Develop and implement detailed care plans and follow-up protocols
  • Prescribe medications and ensure accurate clinical documentation
  • Perform bedside procedures appropriate for cardiac surgery patients
  • Operate independently under physician supervision with expert clinical judgment
  • Complete ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) to maintain and enhance skills

What You Need
  • Valid Colorado Physician Assistant license or eligibility
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management
  • Key skills: clinical judgment, teamwork, adaptability, strong communication skills
