What You ll Do - Provide expert perioperative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients with a patient-first approach
- Assist in complex cardiac surgeries, including endoscopic vein harvesting and surgical procedures
- Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patient care, including rounding and evaluations in CVICU, floor, and clinic
- Participate in two full-day clinics weekly with additional patient appointments as needed
- Rotate through operating room coverage Monday through Friday
- Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary environment
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Develop and implement detailed care plans and follow-up protocols
- Prescribe medications and ensure accurate clinical documentation
- Perform bedside procedures appropriate for cardiac surgery patients
- Operate independently under physician supervision with expert clinical judgment
- Complete ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) to maintain and enhance skills
What You Need - Valid Colorado Physician Assistant license or eligibility
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management
- Key skills: clinical judgment, teamwork, adaptability, strong communication skills
