Job description

A Level II Trauma Center in West Texas is seeking ABEM Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physicians for ongoing locum tenens coverage. This is a well-supported emergency department with an established EM residency program and a collaborative care team.

Assignment Details

  • Start: Upon credentialing

  • Assignment Length: Ongoing

  • Minimum Coverage: 5 shifts per month

  • Multiple physicians needed

  • Providers should be comfortable working both day and night shifts

Practice Setting

  • Acute Care Hospital

  • Level II Trauma Center

  • Emergency Medicine Residency Program

  • EMR: Meditech

Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts

  • Day and night coverage

  • Department staffing includes physicians and APP support

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive Emergency Department coverage

  • Evaluate and manage patients across a broad range of acuity

  • Perform procedures within the scope of Emergency Medicine

  • Supervise Emergency Medicine residents

  • Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary teams

  • Participate in code response and patient admissions

Department Overview

  • Annual ED Volume: 56,000 visits

  • ED Beds: 34

  • Acuity: Medium to high

  • Team-based staffing model with physician and APP support

Requirements

  • ABEM Board Certified (required)

  • ACLS required

  • ATLS required (proof of prior certification acceptable)

  • Active and compliant with standard hospital occupational health requirements
