Job description

A Level II Trauma Center in the Florida Panhandle is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist (MD) for ongoing locum tenens coverage. This role offers a structured weekday schedule, call opportunities, and a diverse surgical case mix within a collaborative hospital environment.

Important: Due to facility requirements, clinicians must reside greater than 60 minutes from the site location. Local candidates within 60 minutes are not eligible.

Assignment Details

  • Start: Upon credentialing

  • Assignment Length: Ongoing coverage

  • Priority given to providers with an active Florida license and DEA

  • Providers available to assist with call coverage are prioritized

Schedule

  • 7:00 AM 3:00 PM (Mon Fri) Day coverage

  • 3:00 PM 5:00 PM (Mon Fri) Late coverage

  • 5:00 PM 7:00 AM (Mon Fri) Overnight call

  • Weekend Call: Saturday Sunday (7:00 AM 7:00 AM)

Practice Setting

  • 219-bed acute care hospital

  • Level II Trauma Center

  • 24 ICU beds

  • 11 anesthetizing sites

  • EMR: Cerner

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia for cardiac and complex surgical procedures

  • Perform and interpret Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)

  • Work across a broad surgical case mix, including:

    • Cardiac and thoracic

    • Major vascular

    • General surgery

    • Orthopedics

    • Neurosurgery

    • Trauma

    • GI procedures

    • Outpatient surgery

    • Additional specialties including ENT, urology, plastics, podiatry, and spine

Requirements

  • Board Certified Cardiac Anesthesiologist (MD)

  • TEE experience required

  • Active Florida license and DEA

  • ACLS, PALS, and BLS (AHA) required

  • Current TB test required

  • 24 months of case logs required for credentialing
