Job Details

- Setting: Inpatient (with potential for outpatient endoscopy/procedures)
- Shift: Weekdays 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (no nights or weekends)
- Shift Duration: 8 Hour Days
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $10,500 - $11,250
- Minimum Shifts: 14 per month (full-time or 2 weeks/month options available)
- Start Date: August 3, 2026
- Assignment Length: Ongoing until a permanent provider is hired
- Patient Encounters: Approximately 5 per shift
- Trauma Level: Level II facility
Requirements / Qualifications
- Board certified in Gastroenterology (Board Certified Gastroenterologist)
- Completion of GI fellowship required
- Active medical license in Washington (WA) or IMLC-eligible
- Current DEA registration
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum 1 year post-fellowship clinical experience in gastroenterology
- Proficiency in common GI procedures and endoscopy (see responsibilities)
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient gastroenterology consults and procedures across two Spokane hospitals (hospitalist GI role)
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopies, including EGD and colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy
- Manage procedures such as biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, esophageal dilation/manometry, small bowel biopsy, sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
- Interpret esophageal manometry and related motility testing
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (hospitalists, surgery, radiology, nursing) to deliver high-quality inpatient GI care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Optional: provide outpatient endoscopy/procedural coverage if desired
