Locum Tenens Job Requirements- Board Certified in Cardiovascular, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery (Cardiothoracic Surgeon)
- Active Ohio state medical license (or ability to obtain licensure prior to start)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiothoracic surgery (cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, vascular surgery)
- Clean professional record and ability to cover the listed dates
- Provide adult cardiothoracic and vascular surgical care in an acute care hospital setting
- Perform general CV/thoracic/vascular surgeries including CABG (coronary artery bypass), valvular repair/replacement, aneurysm repair, lung resection (including VATS), chest wall and pleural procedures, esophageal and diaphragmatic surgeries, and endarterectomy (carotid/renal)
- Manage intraoperative and postoperative ventilation, bronchoscopy procedures, and critical airway care
- Evaluate and manage acute volume status and blood pressure issues in perioperative patients
- Collaborate closely with an onsite team of physicians and advanced practice providers (1 physician + 2 mid-level providers)
- Utilize onsite lab and radiology resources to support timely diagnosis and surgical decision-making
- Proven experience with complex cardiac and thoracic cases in a tertiary or full-service acute care hospital
- Comfortable with high-acuity ICU workflow and multidisciplinary rounds
- Experience documenting in EPIC or similar electronic medical records
- Strong communication and leadership skills in surgical team settings
