Hematology/Oncology Physician

Coverage Needed:

• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: 12/31/2026
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
• Shared call pool with APP support, 5 PM to 7 AM

Clinical Details:

• Practice Setting: Inpatient consult service, outpatient clinic, and infusion center
• Call Ratio: 1 in 5
• Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
• Practice Focus: Primarily hematology, both malignant and benign hematology
  • Possibility of solid tumor, but that's not the focus (i.e. if a solid tumor patient needs to be seen, that patient could be placed on the provider's schedule)
  • When this provider is on call for the practice, they could cover all patients (solid tumor and heme)
  • >90% heme,
• Benign heme patients outnumber malignant heme patients
• See a typical variety of malignant heme patients, but don't do BMT or other advanced treatments typical to an academic center
• Number of Physicians in Practice: 6
• Radiation Oncologists Present
• APPs Coverage: 5 inpatient (covering 2 hospitals), 6 outpatient
• Average Patients Per Day - Hospital: 10-15
• Average Patients Per Day - Outpatient: 15
• EMR: Epic
• Clinical Areas: Outpatient/Inpatient for Hematology/Oncology
• Required Procedures: FNA/Biopsy
• Required Duties: Participation on a Tumor Board, Orders Tests, Orders Images, Prescribes

Requirements:

• Board Certified
• Active MI License - Strongly preferred (willing to review candidates needing to obtain a license)
• BLS
