Job description

Advanced Practice Provider (PA-C / NP) - Orthopedic
Location: Media, PA (Primary location) with travel to King of Prussia. Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to support a high-volume Hip & Knee Surgeon. This role offers flexibility based on the candidate's background and interests, with the ability to function as either a surgical APP or a clinic-focused/non-surgical APP.
The position is primarily clinic-based, managing postoperative and orthopedic follow-up patients independently, with opportunities to expand responsibilities over time. Practice Details
  • High-volume orthopedic practice with back-to-back patient schedules
  • Primary office located in Media, PA
  • Regular travel required to King of Prussia, PA
Schedule
Non-Surgical APP
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Clinic-based, five days per week
Surgical APP
  • Primarily clinic-based
  • Approximately 1 day per week in the OR (no more than once a week in the OR)
  • Remaining days spent in clinic
Clinical Responsibilities
Outpatient / Clinic
  • Evaluate and treat orthopedic patients independently
  • Primarily manage postoperative follow-up visits
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative education
  • Review diagnostic studies and treatment plans
  • Document patient encounters and complete medical records
  • Prescribe medications as appropriate
  • Complete disability, workers' compensation, and medical necessity documentation
  • Respond to patient calls and clinical inquiries
Surgical Responsibilities (if applicable)
  • First assist in orthopedic surgical procedures
  • Support surgeon in the operating room approximately once per week
  • Candidates with RNFA credentials may utilize those skills in the OR
  • Assist with perioperative patient management
Additional Responsibilities
  • Hospital rounds as needed
  • Coordination of care with nursing, therapy, and home health teams
  • Communication with referring physicians
  • Participation in orthopedic education initiatives
  • Support research activities as needed
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Active Pennsylvania PA or NP license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum 1 year of orthopedic APP experience required
  • Hip & Knee, Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement, or Orthopedic Surgery experience preferred
  • Surgical experience preferred for candidates interested in OR responsibilities
