A healthcare system in East Texas is seeking a Locum Emergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage at a primary hospital emergency department with additional shifts available at an affiliated free-standing ED. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling with a stable patient volume and strong specialty support.

Primary Hospital Overview

• Annual ED Volume: 36,000 visits

• Patients per Hour: 2.0

• Trauma Level: III

• Hospital Beds: 224

• ED Beds: 21

• Physician Coverage: 30 hours daily

• APP Coverage: 20 hours daily

• EMR: MedHost

• Scribes: No

• Floor Codes: Yes

• Specialty Backup: Comprehensive

Primary Hospital Shift Options

• 6:00 AM 4:00 PM

• 12:00 PM 10:00 PM

• 8:00 PM 6:00 AM

• 10-hour shifts

Affiliated Free-Standing ED

• Annual Volume: 11,000

• Patients per Hour: 1.4

• ED Beds: 10

• Physician Coverage: 24 hours

• APP Coverage: None

• Trauma Level: None

• EMR: MedHost

Free-Standing ED Shift Options

• 12-hour shifts

• 24-hour shifts available

Board Requirements

• ABEM / BEEM

• OR ABFM / ABIM with Emergency Medicine experience

Certification Requirements

ABEM Providers

• ACLS required

• ATLS completed at least once

Non-ABEM Providers

• ACLS

Compensation & Benefits

• $240 $260 per hour
