Hospital Medicine Nocturnist Admitting Focus
- Our Hospital Medicine team serves as the vital link between the Emergency Department, primary care, and definitive inpatient management within a large, high-acuity health system. We are seeking a dedicated Nocturnist who thrives in a collaborative, physician-led environment and is comfortable managing a robust inpatient admissions workload.
The Position
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts; 15 shifts per month for full-time status
- Workflow: Staggered start times (5 PM and 8 PM) to ensure smooth transitions and continuous overnight coverage
- Team Structure: Work alongside a second nocturnist physician with APP support overnight
- EMR: Fully integrated Epic system
- Admissions Volume: Average hospital census of 45 admits per day (range ); typically 6 10 admissions per nocturnist per shift
