The CDL Flatbed Truck Driver plays a crucial role in safely transporting flatbed cargo across local routes, primarily within the surrounding city and boroughs. This position requires a dependable driver who is skilled in vehicle operation, cargo loading and unloading, and maintaining adherence to safety standards. The driver ensures timely deliveries while effectively managing routes and communication with dispatch.
This position is in the Red Hook area of Brooklyn.
Responsibilities
- Drive flatbed trucks on daily local routes
- Load and unload cargo safely using appropriate equipment
- Verify delivery details and maintain accurate records
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes
- Communicate effectively with dispatch throughout the day
- Comply with all DOT safety regulations and company policies
- Manage time efficiently to meet delivery schedules
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and lift gates
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial driving experience preferred
- CDL Class A or B license
