Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician Assistant

Coverage Needed :

• Schedule:
  • Weekdays: Clinic Mon-Fri, 8a-5p with weeknight call (all nights)
  • Weekends: 24-Hour On Call 7a-7a
• Open Dates:
  • September 7 - 11 8a-5p
  • September 28 - October 2 8a-5p
  • October 5 - 11 8a-5p and night call, 24-hour call for the 10th and 11th ending at 0800 on the 12th
  • November 23 - 28, 8a-5p and night call, 24-hour call on the 26th and 28th, ending at 0700 on the 29th
  • December 21 - 31, 8a-5p and night call, 24-hour call on the 26th and 27th
  • Ongoing needs

Clinical Details :

• Level 2 trauma facility
• Call ratio: 1:2
• Averages 125 CABG cases/year (few are emergent)
• OR, ICU/Floor management in hospital, weekday night call, weekend 24 hour call
• No outpatient clinic expect OR daily and management of inpatients
• Assisting daily in the OR with surgery
• Cases per day: 1 or 2 cases
• Number of physicians to Support: 1 physician until September 21, then will switch to 2

Requirements :

• Board Certified PA-C
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Cardiothoracic surgery and EVH experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years of CT Surgery experience
• Active IA license
• Availability to cover some of the listed dates
• Clean Malpractice/Background
• Self-Query NPDB Report pulled within 30 days at time of presentation
• Proficient in all aspects of Cardiothoracic Surgery including but not limited to CABG and EVH that goes with that, open valvular surgery, thoracic procedures such as thoracotomy, lobectomy
