As a Traveling Dental Hygienist, you'll support our exceptional dental teams throughout Illinois, with opportunities to work in locations including Deerfield, Schaumburg, Westmont, and Countryside.

This role is perfect for hygienists seeking the stability and benefits of full-time employment while enjoying the flexibility to create a schedule that fits their lifestyle. You'll have the ability to build your schedule a month or more in advance, choose from a variety of shifts, and even work half days when preferred giving you greater control over your work-life balance.

Scheduled Hours - Briarwood Park Dental Care

  • Monday 7:30am-5:00pm
  • Wednesday 7:30am-6:00pm

Flexible Hours

  • Additional shifts are available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at nearby Heartland Dental-supported offices convenient to your location. Your choice on days/hours worked.

Patient Schedule

  • Single column schedule, averaging 7 patients/day
  • 60-minute prophys and recare appointments
  • 60-90 minute SRP appointments
  • 90-minute New Patient appointments

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current dental hygienist license in Illinois and an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (where required)
  • Local Anesthesia and Nitrous certification
  • Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
  • CPR Certification

Preferred Experience

  • New graduates and experienced hygienists welcome!
  • Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
  • Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients' dental health
  • Clinical needs as required by office

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position
  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
  • Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
  • As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for both team members and patients, a tuberculosis (TB) test is required for all new hires in dental office positions. This is a standard requirement for dental office roles and must be completed prior to starting employment. The test will be arranged during the pre-employment process, and any necessary guidance or paperwork will be provided. Not applicable in the state of FL & TN.
