Job Title: Sheet Metal Fabricator
Job Summary:
A Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing sheet metal products according to blueprints and specifications. They operate fabrication equipment and ensure all products meet quality and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools and machinery.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as shears, brakes, punches, saws, and welding machines.
- Assemble and fabricate metal components and structures according to specifications.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and compliance with standards.
- Perform welding, grinding, and finishing of fabricated parts when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production deadlines.
- Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools accurately.
- Knowledge of fabrication equipment and metalworking techniques.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and PPE requirements.
