The Coastal Bend Food Bank is a dedicated organization committed to fighting hunger and supporting our community through various food assistance programs. We are looking for a reliable and compassionate CDL Class B driver to join our team and help transport essential products to those in need.
Responsibilities
- Transportation: Safely transport products from donors to the food bank, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
- Deliveries: Make deliveries of products to partner agencies and Mobile Pantry clients, providing excellent customer service.
- Warehouse Assistance: Assist in warehouse operations, including loading and unloading trucks, picking product, palletizing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the delivery vehicle to ensure it remains in good working condition.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups, including completing necessary paperwork and logs.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Follow company policies and procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with the warehouse team, donors, and recipients to coordinate deliveries and address any issues or concerns.
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CDL class B driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Three years of verifiable current CDL driving experience.
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
- Comprehension of simple math.
- The ability to do heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) safely, reach high and low, full range of motion of upper and lower extremities.
- Forklift, electric/manual pallet jack, and warehouse experience required.
- Ability to drive both standard and automatic transmission.
- Ability to work flexible schedule including Saturdays and evenings.
