Property & Maintenance Director

Position Overview

Our Savior's Lutheran Church is seeking a Property & Maintenance Director to lead the care, maintenance, and long-term stewardship of our campus. This is a hands-on, working leadership role responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for worship, education, and community use.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities & Grounds

Perform and oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative care

Maintain buildings, landscaping, irrigation systems, and outdoor spaces

Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and ready for daily use

Building Systems

Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

Coordinate major repairs and system replacements with vendors

Monitor building conditions and identify needed improvements

Projects & Improvements

Plan and manage facility improvement projects (e.g., HVAC, flooring, lighting, roofing)

Obtain bids, coordinate contractors, and oversee project completion

Prioritize maintenance and capital needs

Budget & Stewardship

Track maintenance and utility budgets

Control costs through smart purchasing and vendor management

Provide input for annual budget planning

Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with inspections and safety requirements (fire systems, alarms, equipment)

Address issues proactively and maintain proper documentation

Coordination & Support

Work with vendors, contractors, and volunteers

Support church services, events, and school operations (setup, logistics, facility readiness)

Assist leadership with facility planning and decision-making

Qualifications

Experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or related field

Strong hands-on skills (plumbing, electrical, general repair)

Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently

Experience coordinating vendors and managing projects

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to perform physical work (lifting, climbing, outdoor tasks)

Position Details
